ALA Emerging Leaders at Midwinter

ALAmwcarrotcakeDay 1 of our in-person ALA Emerging Leaders class of 2012.
Friday was our training day but we did get some time in between speakers to work with our groups and create a plan.
We got some good tips about different styles of leadership. For me, it was perfect to have a leadership day before the Susan Cain’s talk on introverts, because it did bring some concepts full circle. They went beyond feeding our minds…Carrot cake! Tea! Yummy veggie food! 🙂

ALAEmergingLeades12ProjectK     Our group worked well together. We came up with a plan for our project, including an environmental scan of tools for expert profiling databases and staying organized by way of a Gantt chart. Here is a picture our Emerging Leaders Team – we are Project K! Jodie, Aimee, Lilly, Tasha, and Kristen.I wanted to keep the momentum going so I shared my really really rough draft of what I envisioned as a possible logo for our Project K(angaroo) mascot. We all had a good laugh over the sketch. Go Project K!
